Our Curriculum

Our programs are aligned with the Ontario curriculum and designed to build deep, lasting confidence. Explore our three program levels below to see how we make math make sense.

K-5 Foundations Program

Building a love for numbers through play and real-world connections.

We use games, stories, and hands-on activities to make concepts like place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions intuitive and fun.
We introduce the fundamentals of algebra by exploring repeating patterns, identifying rules, and understanding the concept of equality, setting the stage for future success.
Students learn to collect, organize, and read simple data sets and graphs. We make it fun by creating surveys about favorite ice cream flavors or classroom pets.
Students learn about 2D and 3D shapes, area, and perimeter by designing their own rooms or parks. We make measurement tangible and purposeful.
We introduce the basics of money, including identifying coins and bills and making simple calculations for transactions, building a foundation for real-world financial skills.
We explicitly teach skills like managing frustration, persevering through challenges, and collaborating with others. Building a positive identity as a "math person" is at the heart of everything we do.

6-8 Mastery Program

Bridging the gap to high school with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

We master operations with integers, fractions, percents, and ratios using real-world data. We explore concepts by answering questions like "Why does dividing by a fraction make the number bigger?".
We introduce algebra as a language for describing patterns, using logic puzzles before formal equations. This makes algebra a powerful tool for solving problems, not just a list of rules.
We focus on "data storytelling," analyzing real graphs from the news and asking critical questions. We make probability fun by analyzing the odds in popular board games.
We make geometry hands-on. We explore the Pythagorean theorem, surface area, and volume by redesigning a bedroom to optimize space or figuring out the most efficient way to wrap a gift.
We make finance relevant by creating mock budgets for things students care about, demystifying concepts like interest, credit, and taxes to build life-long skills.
We explicitly teach skills like managing frustration, persevering through challenges, and collaborating with others. Building a positive identity as a "math person" is at the heart of everything we do.

📈 Functions & Algebra

This is the core of high school math. We build deep fluency in manipulating polynomials and factoring. We focus on the "story" told by linear and quadratic functions (parabolas), connecting their graphs to real-world situations like profit curves or the path of a thrown ball. This ensures a rock-solid foundation for Grade 11 Functions.

📍 Analytic Geometry

We show how algebra and geometry are two sides of the same coin. Students master concepts like midpoint, length of a line segment, and the equation of a circle. This isn't just about formulas; it's about using coordinates to solve geometric problems, a critical skill for STEM fields.

📐 Trigonometry

We make trigonometry practical and intuitive. Students master SOH CAH TOA not as a memorized rule, but as a tool to solve real-world problems like finding the height of a building, calculating the angle of a skateboard ramp, or navigating with bearings. This builds a strong foundation for more advanced trigonometry in senior grades.

📊 Data Management & Probability

We teach students to be critical consumers of data. We move beyond simple graphing to analyze relationships in scatter plots and understand probability in single and compound events. This builds the data literacy skills essential in today's world.

💰 Financial Literacy

We explore the powerful real-world applications of math in finance. We move beyond simple formulas to explore powerful questions like, *"How can I use compound interest to my advantage?"* and *"What's the real cost of debt?"*, providing practical skills for life.
